This is no cheap range but the best that money can buy and is manufactured by the Minnesota Stove Co., which leads the world in stove manufacturer. to see this Range and be convinced of the wonderful chance for a Range that pleases everybody. Here are some of the reasons why we claim this to be the best stove on the market . , BODY Is made of cold rolled char- | coal Iron, which is the most | durable material obtainable of Steel Range construction. This material will not become pitted or corroded like Steel—neither will it chip, peel, rust, burn off or turn white when heated. AJl bodies for the Steel Coral have double steel walls interlined with 14 in. asbestos mill board, thus keeping the heat in the Range and economizing fuel. RIVETS Have cone heads and are driven with compressed air hammers same asin boilercon- struction, producing great strength and durability. BOTTOM Oven Plate is made of 12 gauge wrought Steel, securely braced with ca iron plates. Oven top and sides are made of 14 gauge wrought Steel. r Oven Tops are made of k that we do not find ry to protect them with asbestos as it is found necessary in cheap ranges. OVEN DOOR | Has non - breakable sliding brackets which move up and down in a groved slide. The door drops to a horizontal po- sition level with oven bottom, has a smooth inner surface, easy to keep clean and forms a convenient shelf which will sustain any weight up to 300 Ibs. OVEN BACK Is made of 8 gauge wire and combines great strength with light weight. LININGS Of Fire box are the heaviest and most durable of any range ever made. There is ample ventilation behind the linings to prevent them from burning out. HOT BLAST DRAFT In front of Range takes the super-heated air between the flue bottom and the main bot- tom of the Stove and discharges this under the fire box, spread- DUPLEX GRATES For hard or soft coal so made | that one movement of the crank | cuts out the dead ashes and cinders and drops them into the ash pan. Grates are easily removed through a_ special grate door without disturbing Water-Front or Lining. Has no | grate frame or tracks to warp and get out of order and_no | grate holders to get loose. Du- plex Grate when reversed forms a perfect wood fire-bottom and makes the fire box shallower, | a desirable feature with wood, intended to bring the fire near- er the top. Removing the end (inings and reversing the grate forms a perfect wood-box with-out disturbing any other linings or removing the grates. Fire-Box extension at rear end for long wood is furnished with every Range. FIRE BOX For flues are carefully pro- portioned to produce the quick- est heat from the smallest quantity of fuel. TOP We especially call attention to the fine, smooth castings used in making key - plates, covers and centers on this Range. It requires but a glance for the customer to see that this is the finest fitted top ever put on a Range. WATER FRONTS Are extra large and of great capacity, all being tested under 150 Ibs. pressure. CLEAN OUT DOOR Provided with a smooth nickel pr jecting: hearth in or- der to pull the soot out into the ash-pan and prevent soiling the front of the Range. SMOOTH NICKEL TRIMMINCS Are the key note of the suc- cess of this Range and will be fully appreciated and _ under- stood by every House-Wife who sees this Stove. There will be no question but that the pros- Salt and Civilization, Salt has had much influence in shap- ing the civilization and exploration of the world. It is believed by many that the oldest trade routes were created for the salt traffic. This was certain- ly the case with the caravan routes in Libya and the Sahara, while the mines of North India were the center of a large trade before the time of Alex, ander. Salt, too, has playsd a consid- erable part in the distribution of man. He was forced to migrate to places where it could be obtained. This brought him to the seashore, where he gained his ideas of maritime com- merce. Lastly, the preservative ef- fects of salt on flesh food made long oceanic voyages possible and thus opened up the world to commerce and civilization. Reclaiming the Sahara Desert. As a result of recent scientific in- :| vestigations it may be possible to re- vise our ideas of the barrenness of the Sahara desert, since it has been found by boring that there are numerous springe which rise to the surface and make possible a system of irrigation. In the territory to the south of Algeria a government irrigation survey has been at work making a series of deep test borings, some of which are as deep as 2,000 feet. In this way con- siderable water has been encountered and in certain oases already twice the usual amount of water has been made available for the palm groves.—Har ver’s Weekly. Freaks of an Oklahoma Storm. Here are some of the freaks inci- dents of the tornado in Day county, near Grand, says the Grand Progress. A large number of chickens were killed, and most of them had all feath- ers’. pulled off, excepting the wing feathers. At Henry McQuigg’s it took a wheat binder and carried it over two fences and put it down wrong side up. The fences were not injured, but the binder was badly damaged. At Mr. Wells’ it pulled up the posts in a two- wire fence and carried some ef the posts a long distance, but left some of them in the ground where the fence stood. The two wires were carried into a field a long distance away and stretched out straight on the ground close together. One of the most peculiar events was with reference to Mrs. Wells’ win- dow curtains. When the storm struck the house she had a lace curtain over a window. Immediately after the storm she found this lace curtain tied in a bow kmot round a fence posi This seems imcomprehensible and we will not attempt to explain it. Raises Deer for Market.
