Mr. Gunnard Danielson and Miss Ragna Brynelson were married last Friday by Rev. L. W. Gullstromn at the latter’s residence. Mr, and Mrs, Danielson will make Grand Rapids their home, and their many friends including the Herald-Review, will wish them happiness and prosperity throught their wedded life. Will Nisbett and Ruel S. Reed have formed a partnership in the cedar business under the firm name of R. S. Reed & Co. erated a cedar camp last winter and were so well pleased with the business that they have made their organization permanent and are now prepaired to buy and pay cash for all sized cedar lots. Walsh, sheriff of Koochiching county came down from International Falls last Friday and renewed old ac- quaintances. ‘The latest candidate to file in Itasca county is William Welte of Big Fork who filed Monday morning for the office of county commissioner of the 2nd district. Billy contests the office with Morris O’Brien. At the special school bond election in Deer River the district voted $35.000 by a vote of 132 to 77. The board has purchasers for the bonds and a csntract is about to be closed for a brick high school building in that village. W. A. Rossman, the present efficient assistant county attorney, has con- cluded to get into the game and_ has filed as a candidate for the Republican nomination for county attorney. We publish his portrait on another page and wish him success. Charles Sidney, the 15 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brock dead last Thursday of Cholera infan tum. Interment was made last Satur- day from the M. E. Church in Itasca cemetery, ‘The afflicted parents have the sympathy of the community. Mrs. Martin Dufficy was quite badly injured in a runaway last Wednesday evening. She was dnving with Mr. Ward who stopped at Riddel’s_ black- smithshop and left Mrs, Dufficy sitting in the buggy while he stepped into the shop. The horse took fnght and started to run and threw Mrs. Dufficy out of the ng, braking a rib and bruis- ing her head and body. She was taken to St. Benedicts hospital where her injuries were treted and she is now on the road to recovery. . Base Ball Notes. It was a good clean bunch of bali players that came up from Moose Lake and played the locals at the south side park last Wednesday afternoon, and it was base ball from start to finish. Our new pitcher proved to tbe crowd that he knew how and ina great measure is responsible for Grand Rapids winning, although the team work was uniformly good. A double umpire was a good feature of the game and the absence of wrangling was noticable. The result as follows: Moose Lake ........000010000—1 Grand Rapids ......100100000—2 The Moose Lake Star Gazette bas the following on the game: Sunday the Cloquet team visited us and after one of the hardest fought games ever the game was called with the score two to two and twelve in- nings played. The game was full of ginger right along and both visitors and locals played ball all the time. This is thé kind of ball that looks like old times and makes the rvoters feel good. Monday the Moose Lake team came back and done us up gloriously. The game was a fast one and the best of good feeling prevailed between the teams. The head work of the in- dividual players was in evidence and that the game was a good one, is demonstrated by the score of 2 to 0. Speck’s Colts are a clean bunch of young men and will always receive a cordial welcome at Graad Rapids. Democratic County Convention. Pursuant to call a meeting was held} in the Court house last Friday after- noon that was largely attended. A.E. py der was elected chairman and J, S. Gole secretary. The calf business of importance to attend to was the election of del- egates to attend the state convention that convenes in Minneapoles today and the meeting designated Messrs. W. C. Kent, Bovey, A. B. Clair, J. S. Gole, Henry Hughes, M. A. Spang, Grand Rapids, C.*M. King, Deer River, M. O’Brien, Cohasset, and Charles Peterson, Bovey. A. E. Wilder, Henry Hughes, E. LeFebre, H. McEwan and J. S.
