Editor Koen of the Eveleth Star was a guest at Grand Rapids over Sunday. Mrs. G, M. D. Myer has been in disposed from neuralgia for some time but is reported better at this writing. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. James Spencer, last Wednesday, a little daughter. Miss Mabel ‘thor has returned from Hibbing and 1s again answering calls at the, telephone office. A meeting of the Catholic ladies was held Thursday afternoon at the home ot Mrs. C. K. Lent. The Arbutus ‘club gave a dance Thursday evening of this week. A very enjoyable time was had. County Commissioner Aad A. ‘Tone was down from Northome the’ first part of the week on legal business. George Sawyer departed Wednes- day for Indiana on an extended visit with relatives and old-time acquaint- ances. The meeting of the Woman’s club next week will be at the home of Mrs. Gilbert, when the lecture on Japan will Se completed. Miss Doran will be the leader, The ladies of the M. E, church will give a 15c supper at the home of Mrs. W. C. Gilbert, Wednesday evening, January 31. The ladies of the Altar society of St. Joseph’s church will meet with Mrs. Daub next Thursday afternoon, February 1. A number of our merchants are busy this week taking account of stock. They report business as being rather quiet at present. The Dixie Jubilee Singers will give an entertainment on the evening of February 16, under the auspices of the Grand Rapids Lyceum bureau.
