Mother of Mrs. John Sempf Succumbs to Illness Which had Affected her for Some Time. Mrs. Hannah Snyder, wife of J. W. Snyder. residing a few mules above Walker on the west shore of the lake, died Sunday morning in the Sister’s hospital at Cass Lake whither she had been taken afew days previ- ously for treatment for obstructive jaundice from whieh she had been sufiering for some time. Her daugh- | ter, Mrs, John Sempf, and Mr. Sempf went up to Cass Lake Saturday even- ing 1n response to a message but did not know until their arrival there just | how serious her condition was. They were with her at the hour of death and brought the body to Walker on | Monday morning's train, ‘The tuneral took place Wednesday \ afternoon fioim the Congregational | church, Rev. Mr, Michael officiating | and the choir rendering appropriate | music. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers were Char- les Kinkele. J. B. Spencer, W. Dear- mig, C. E. Gnffith, James Campbell and H. McCabe. There was a large | attendance of friends of the deceased and of Mr. and Mrs, Sempf at the church services and many followed the remains to the cemetery, though the inclemency ot the weather de- tetred others. who wished to pay this last tribute of respect to the dead. i] Mrs. Munson, a daughter of the deceased living at Grand Rapids, came down to attend the toneral and will | return this evening.
