I desire to call attention to the fact that the Village received from the ‘og | county moneys to the amount of $10,568.37, of which $2,550 was for pur: chase of old Mississippi bridge, leaving the tax apportionment $8,018.37. Thus it will be seen that the Village has paid for her proportion of the Kin- dred ave. sewer $1,212.42, paid $2,550.00 on bridge, $834.00 making fill of bridge approaches, bought $400.00 of hose, paid the operating expenses of the Viilage, and has laid up $651.48 without the aid of the tax revenue, that money being nsed to pay old debts and loanéd to the taxpayers by payment of the sewer and sidewalks, by the which taxpayers for whom these improve- ments were made it will be repaid into the village treasury.
