Oh! We Don’t Know! In picking up from our exchange table an obscure and seldom read paper printed at Cass Lake, Minn., (The Voice) we clip the following: “T. A. McHugh, of Itasca county, is the only Democrat in this legislative district. who has courage enough to file a certificate for nomination. He is a candidate for state senator. At the same time he has as much chance for election as he has of securing an aerial passage to the planet Mars.’* The fungus editor is evidently a crank upon the subject judging trom the extremity of his comparison, The natural deductions to be drawn frora the above is simply that the Republi- can electors of this senatorial district must swallow any old thing that the exclusive party bosses see fit to put up, and it is the concensus of opinion that the Republican coterie of this district has decided to “schlip ’em” the real thing this fall. The election of a Democratic senator from the 52d Legislative District is not only a possibility but a probability. White Mr. McHugh may: be unknown to the editor of The Voice, he is ‘un- Democratic candidate, He is a man upon whom the sober, honest and intelligent peo- ple of both parties would unite, for the simple reason that his election would be a business proposition for the people of the district, as they would then know that the district would be represented in the state senate and their interests looked after at all times during his term of office and this is more than could be said if either of the present parties seeking the republican nomination — were elected, and in addition it would be a severe blow to the grafting qualities of the erstwhile editor. Ready For the Primaries. The primaries will be held on Tues- day next, and candidates are buisy making the final round-up.
