FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Nov. 29. —A suit for $10,000 damages against M. Landon Bolling was filed in Cor- poration Court here today by attorneys for J. C. Chichester, administrator of the estate of George M. Carter, who was killed in the Bolling apartment on December 1, 1936. Bolling was indicted for the murder of Carter, his close friend and room- mate, but was not brought to trial, the charges having been dismissed last week by Judge Frederick W. Coleman when Commonwealth’s Attorney W. B. F. Cole declined to prosecute the case. Bolling, who spent almost a year in Southwestern State Hospital at Marion for mental examination, was reported as having been “insane and incompe- tent” when admitted to the hospital on December 11, 10 days after Carter had been stabbed and shof to death. The report said Bolling had been restored to sanity and he was dis- charged from the hospital last Tues- day. Bolling has not returned to his home here and his whereabouts could not be learned today. — MRS.
