Tt is learned in the financial dis- trict that a majority of the banks in Washington will continue to make loans for alterations and repairs ‘which were originally authorized un- der the Federal Housing Act under Title 1. Although Title I expired on April 1, these banks have now de- cided to make more such loans in- dependently. Loans for renovations have been an | important factor in business recovery for many months. Each loan has meant additional employment and also the purchase of building and other materials used in renovizing work.
