The bandit, po- lice said, robbed three store proprietors of cash totaling $156, and then was frightened out a fourth shop before | Sup completing a hold-up. The description given by the three victims and the intended fourth vic- tim tallied in many details, police said. The bandit first entered the store of Tayp Taska, at 1009 U street, and made off with $6. A short while later, Nathan J. Hanainy, proprietor of a grocery store at 1500 U street, was confronted by an armed bandit, and forced to give him $120 from the cash register. From Peter George, owner of a store at 1361 U street, the robber took $30. The same bandit was reported early today to have entered a store at 29 Massachusetts avenue, fired two shots after becoming frightened, and run away before he could get any money from Proprietor Paul Bringnole. Theft of 4,000 pounds of beef, lamb, veal, chickens, butter and lard was reported by Swift & Co., 90 L street northeast.
