NEW YORK, January 25.—Lower- ing trends ruled the bond market to- day as speculative rails reacted major fractions to a point. Other portions of the domestic corporate list mm‘ed‘ off sympathetically. United States | Governments continued their down- ward course of the past several weeks, | although setbacks of the latter were minor late in the morning. ‘ In the carrier department, the wid- | est losers included Missouri Pacific 5s “F,” Frisco 4'2s, Southern Pa- cific 4'3s, Baltimore & Ohio 41:s, St. Paul 5s, Northwestern 43;s and Erie 5s. Higher a major fraction were New Haven 6s. Domestic utility loans were rather inconspicious, but bonds of concerns with properties elsewhere worked up- ward. Abitibi 5s improved a bit and International Telephone 5s advanced fractionally. Wall Street circles were inclined to blame the raging floods of the | Middle West for the withdrawal of | support from railroad and utility ob- ligations. Washington Exchange| SALES.
