BRONXVILLE, N. Y., July 9—Dr. George August Romoser, prominent Lutheran educator and clergyman, who has been president of Concordia College since 1918, died suddenly to- day of a heart attack. He was 66. He came to Concordia as a profes- sor in 1915 and was made president three years later. Dr. Romoser was national vice president of the English Lutheran Missouri Synod from 1912-1915 and editor of the Lutheran Witness in 2914, He was born at Baltimore September 34, 1870, and was graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, St.| Louis, in 1892. He was a member of the faculty of Concordia College, Conover, N. C., 1892-1900 and was president in 1901. He was pastor of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, De- troit 1899-1902 and of Grace Luthemn Church, Cleveland, 1912-1914. He is survived by his widow nnd two sons, Rev. Carl A. Atwood of Probate Court. ‘The veteran, Aime Carrigan, was brought into court in June by his for- mer wife, Mrs. Mabel E. Smith of ‘Worcester, who charged he was $312 behind in support payments for their child. Carrigan said his pay was $30 a month and that he had been giving $13 monthly to his former wife.
