THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, DR R. W. WEAVER 10 GIVE SERMON Subject at First Baptist Is| “Transfiguration of the Temporal.” “The Transfiguration of the Tem- poral” will be the subject of Dr. Rufus W. Weaver at the First Baptist Church tomorrow morning. and in the | evening he will speak on “Recovery Through Restoration.” He will leave | tomorrow night for Colorado Springs to attend the annual meeting of the Northern Baptist Convention. Rev. Milner C. Brittain, newly elected assistant pastor of the church, will start his work here tomorrow. Mr. Brittain, who was graduated from the Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville only a few weeks ago, is also a musician and an athlete, hav- ing helped to pay for his education | through his ability in the former di- rection. During his three years at the seminary he played in the Louis- ville Civic Symphony, was assistant director of the male chorus at the Assistant Pastor REV. M. C BRITTIAV 7b'l'lld played in and assisted in di- rection of their orchestras, bands and glee clubs. In athletics he played base ball, basket ball, foot ball and tennis. He will lead the midweek de- votional service next Thursday eve- ning, and on the following Sunday occupy the pulpit. The Fidelis Class will hold a picnic at Henderson Castle this afternoon, Mrs. King hostess. Winifred Ing and a group of young women from the Euzelian Class will present a program at the Children’s Emergency Home, Central Union Mission, today.
