Other Groups Decline on Profit Taking. BY VICTOR EUBANK, Associated Press Financial Writer, NEW YORK, April 26 —While some of the mining issues lost their buoy- ancy today, when the Treasury failed to make another advance in world silver prices, they still formed the best group in the stock market. Else- where there were a number of de- clines on profit-taking. Silver King held a gain of more than 2 points, and American Smelt- ing, Cerro de Pasco, Alaska Juneau, Mclntyre Porcupine and Park Utah, although paring early advances, were fractionally to a point higher. Amer- ican Telephone was an isolated firm spot, along with Amerada and East- man Kodak. Coca-Cola lost 4 points, and United States Steel, General Mo- tors, Chrysler, Schenley, American Can and Celeanese were moderately lower, ‘The late tone was irregular. National Dis- tillers and Schenley drifted lower. ‘The rails slipped a shade in either direction. Brokerage commentators were still bullish on stocks, as & whole, but the recent sharp upturn in mining issues brought some cautionary advices from these quarters. It was pointed out that the maximum benefits of boom- United | ing silver prices can be realized only by a few companies until such a time as the production of copper. lead and zinc increases. In many mines silver is a by-product of these metals. 'NIAGARA SHARE CORP. SHOWS LOWER ASSETS | Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, April 26—Niagara !
