NEW YORK, February 23.—There were some developments over the holiday which brought a divergent Tesponse in the bond market today. International Telephone 5s also weakened. Modest gains appeared in Consoli- dated Gas 5'2s at 106, American Tele- | phone 5s at 112 of New York 4! ‘Treasury 4s led the upswing in the Federal section by rising % of a point at 111.24. New high levels were established by various other Treas- uries, including the 44s, up 12-32; 3s, | 1948, up 11-32, and 3'ss, 1952, up 9-3: Home Loan and Federal Farm issues | climbed 8-32 to 11-32 of a point. Foreign loans had a mixed tone. Australian and Austrian obligatiol moved up fractionally, while those of Great Britain and Italy declined. Wheat brokers said the wheat mar- ket was temporarily handicapped by | the waterlogged corn trade. This cir- cumstance was indicated because of at least some weakness of wheat prices, despite news of soil blowing. NEW YORK, Februery 23.—Firm- ness of utility shares and irregularity in the geheral list characterized dealings on the curb market today.
