Greenway, Head of Booth Papers, Victim of Heart Attack. By the Associated Press. CHANDLERVILLE, IIl, December 1.—The head of one of the leading newspaper chains, Charles M. Green- way, of Grand Rapids, Mich., died sud- denly today at a hunting lodge near here. He was president of the Booth News- papers, Inc., publishers of daily news- papers in eight Michigan cities. A heart attack apparently was the cause. Greenway, who was 66, and @ party of friends were ready to shoot ducks from private blinds owned by the Sanganois Club near the con- fluence of the Illinois and Sangamon Rivers. NOrth 0O/8 D. ©, DECEMBER 2, BERT ROBERTSON DIES HERE AT 46 Brief Illness Proves Fatal to Auto Sales Manager in Trade for 25 Years. Bert Robertson, well known in the Washington automobile trade for 25 years, died Thursday after a short illness at Mount Alto Hospital. He was 46 years old. Mr. Robertson was born in Elmira, N. Y., December 28, 1888, and came to Washington in 1904. He started as a salesman with the Overland Co. about 25 years ago. From 1922 to 1930 he was sales manager with the Wal- lace Motor Co. The next two years he served in the same capacity with the Lambert-Hudson Co. and since that time he had been assistant used- car manager with the Trew Motor Co. During the World War he served overseas. He was active in fraternal circles here, being a member and past master of Trinity Lodge, No. 41, F. A. A. M, and a member of La Fayette Chapter, No. 5, and Odoniram Coun- cil, No. 2. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ada B. Robertson, and three sons, Bert G., Edward A. and Donald V. | Robertson. CLIFTON HOWARD DIES IN ALEXANDRIA | Brokerage Merchant Succumbs to Stroke at Age of 68. By a Staff Correspondent of The Star. ALEXANDRIA, Va, December 1.— T. Clifton Howard, 68, prominent brokerage merchant of this city and Washington for the past 37 years, died this afternoon at his home, 207 South Washington street, after being stricken with paralysis yesterday. In addition to his brokerage busi- ness, the deceased was the operator of one of the city's largest grocery stores for a number of years. Mr. Howard was born at Seminary Hill in 1866 and lived here all his life. He leaves his wife, Mrs. T. Clifton Howard, city probation officer; five sons and two daughters. The sons are William M. Howard, Frank B. Howard, with whom he was associated in the grocery business; T. Brooke Howard, Alexandria attorney, and Jack S. and Robert Howard, who were affiliated with their father in the brokerage business. The daughters | are Mrs. F. B.
