CURB LIST CLOES UNEVENLY LOWER Fresh Selling Ends Rally After Second Hour of Session. Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, July 25.—The Ourb Exchange closed irregularly lower to- day, with the changes either way of small proportions in the market leaders. ‘The market had resumed yesterday's rallying tendencies at the outset and for the first hour or so prices moved ahead. Fresh waves of selling midway through the three-hour session checked the advance. Another slight rally at the start of the last hour was succeeded by another cutburst of liquidation near the close. A few stocks managed to re- tain small gains to the end. The opening was gemerally higher, ‘with the widest gains in the liquor stocks, whose collapse had brought about last week’s break in the markets. ‘Gains in the alcohol shares ranged from Iractions to 3 points in the first hour, with Hiram Walker and Distillers- Seagrams actively bought, but all of them came down in the second hour and a few showed fractional losses at that stage. Gold stocks were active, but inclined to sag with the general market. Pioneer Gold, Wright-Hargreaves Mining, Hol- inger, Lake Shore Mines and Hudson y Mining all showed slight declines early in the last hour. (Copyright, 1933.)
