The commandant of the Navy Yard, Rear Admiral Henry Varnum Butler and Mrs. Butler will have a small com- pany dining with them informally be- fore the first of the series of dances which the officers of the yard will give this evening in the saill loft at the yard. Miss Anna Smith, granddaughter of Mrs. Butler, will be hostess to a number of her contemporaries in & box at_the dance this evening.
