Bventually, too. the new avenue known as Louisiana avenue, which has been partially developed from Union Station, will be cut straight through from Union Station to enter Pennsyl- vania avenue at what will be known as Union Square Constitution avenue. along which is being erected one of the most impos- ing groups of new Government build- ings ever erected here, has been wid- ened from Fourtenth street to Virginia avenue, but the stretch from Sixth street to Fourteenth street, where the new construction now is proceeding, will be lefy for development later, when the heavy hauling of construction work will have been finished . GAS CONNECTION FEE MAY BE REDUCED HERE Commission Orders Company to File New Schedule of Instal- lation Charges. The Washington Gas Light Co. yes- terday was ordered by the Public Utilities Commission to file a new schedule for service connection charges. The new schedule would be considered between now and January 1, when new gas rates are expected to be ordered. At present the gas consumer pays one-half the cost of installing the pipe- line from the street gas main to his house. The commission proposes that the company install the line free of charge irom the strcet main to the property line of the consumer. The question now is whether the consumer would be required to pay the total cost of continuing the pipe line across his property to his house, or whether this expense would be shared by the com- pany. ESCAPED D. C. YOUTHS CAUGHT IN MEMPHIS Three Fugitives From National Training School Suspected in Filling Station Robbery. Three boys who escaped from the National Training School for Boys on Bladensburg road about two weeks ago has ben arrested at Memphis, Tenn.. and held as suspects in a Ailling station robbery. according to an Asso- ciated Press dispatch. The boys. EcLby Ware. 19, of Shreve- port, La.. Orville Hartung of Kansas City and Matthew Homer. 18, of Birmingham, Ala.. told police they drove to Memphis in stolen automobiles. Police quoted Ware as saying that after they escaped from the reformatory they stole a car and drove it to Louis- ville, where it broke down. They then entered an automobile agency, accord- ing to Ware, and drove a new car through a plate glass show window.
