AND COOL EXCEPTIONAL BUILDERS TO USE RADIO Short-Wave Set Found Suitable for| Commercial Projects. Utilization by the building industry of a recently developed short-wave radio set suitable for use over distances up to two or three miles and particularly adaptable for use in structures com- pleted or being erected is expected, with a view to improving communication among workers on skyscrapers and con- sequently saving time and eliminating errors. The Federal Radio Commission only recently announced the perfection of the commercial set, which may be used | on shipkoard, railroad trains and along short stretches of highways under con- | struction or repair. While the availa- | bility of short waves has been known for many years, their commercial adapt- | ability had not been widely established. The st was developed in a large | commercial radio laboratory, where | tests revealed that frequencies around 60,000 kilocycles, or about 5 meters, are dependable and stable and may be used | for transmission and reception of mes- sages over distances up to two or three miles S SEEE === to receive aid from the subsidy, he re- rts, | "1t'is reported that the buflding in- dustry has suffered more than any ]uun T in New Zealand.
