S. Disapproves Effort to Be “Different.” By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, May 22.—Women, says Judge Genevieve Cline, should not try | to be “different,” they should try to be women. The only woman Federal jurist in the United States disapproves of mannish attire for women, of a masculine tra- dition for women, of hats on women in a court room. “Women make a mistake,” she be- lieves, “when they try to be ‘different,’ | when they substitute their own way for | masculine tradition. I believe most | I know all men will.” Judge Cline, formerly a lawyer in Cleveland, was appointed to the United | Coolidge. She has been on that bench | for four years and will hold the post | for life. Talks at Reception.
