Br the Associated Press. DETROIT, March 30.—Mayor Frank Murphy of Detroit, supporter of Gov. Roosevelt of New York for the Demo- cratic presidential nomination, an- nounced yesterday that he is asking nothing for himself from the voters this year. Since his overwhelming victory in the non-partisan municipal election last Fall, Mayor Murphy has been men- tioned frequently as a possible Demo- cratic candidate for Governor. It also was stated in some quarters that he has vice presidential asporations. “I will not seek any office this Fall,” Murphy said today, adding that “this is not the proper time for leaving the Mayor's chair.” Murphy said he will “do everything within my power to further Mr. Roose- velt's candidacy, but will not seek con- trol of any delegates from Michigan.
