THE EVENING § BROTHERHOOD LAYS COMMUNION PLANS Bishop Freeman Hopes for Big Attendance at Wash- ington Birthday Services. Preliminary plans for the fourth an- nual corporate communion for men and boys on Washington's birthday under auspices of the Brotherhood of St. An- drew were announced by H. Lawrence Choate, chairman of the Committee in Charge. Bishop James E. Freeman hopes that there will be a large attend- ance at the service, which will be held in the Church of the Epiphany at 8 a.m. Bishop Freeman will be the celebrant at the communion and principal speaker | at the fellowship breakfast following the service. The theme of the day will | be “Washington, the Patriot and Chuschman.” | In addition to Mr. Choate the offi- cers of the Washington's Birthday Committee include Arthur Houghton, vice chairman; N. W. Dorsey, treasurer, and James A. DeForce, secretary. At & recent meeting of the Inter- arochial Men's Committee for the locese of Washington, it was decided ot to hold an annual dinner this year, but rather to combine that event with the corporate communion and breakfast on February 22. Invitations to all the parishes in the diocese to participate in the program are being issued and visi- tors at the beginning of the George Washington Bicentennial Celebration will be cordially welcomed at both the service and the breakfast. Pinn, former pas- tor of the First Baptist Church, West ‘Washington, and professor of the School of Religion, Howard University, was formally recognized by the Ec- clesiastical Council of Colored Baptist Churches of Washington and Vicinity at a meeting this week. The council was called to order by Dr. Willlam D. Jarvis, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Dr. George O. Bulock, pastor of the Third Baptist Church, was elected moderator. Dr. J. R.
