SPRINGFIELD, I, December 7.— Messages of condolence poured in yes- terday to the family of Nicholas Vachel Lindsay, one of America’s leading mod- ern poets, who died at his home here Saturday at the age of 52 years. Lindsay'’s body lay in state at a mortuary and past his bier filed many admirers of his work.
