The opening and improvement of Third street from Rittenhouse to As- pen streets was urged in view of the approaching activities on the Whittier School Municipal Playgrounds, it be- ing impossible to use this thoroughfare at the present time. The need of a northern high school and a swimming pool for this section was also urged at an_early date. The association indorsed a petition | providing for the closing at 11 o'ciock at night of the bowling alleys on Cedar street. The meeting discussed the proposed erection of ‘a 300-foot tank by the Washington Gas Light Co. on Rigss road and left the matter to the Na- tional Capital Park and Planning Com- | mission for action. The association decided not to be- | come a_member cf the North Wash- | ington Citizens’ Joint Committee. Rep- resentatives of the association will at- | tend the public hearing on_November | 23 of the Public Utilities Commission in connection with the revaluation of the Washington Rapid Transit Co.
