Pnactment of & real estate brokers' | Yicenss law for Washington, which has | been advocated by the realtor organiza- | tion here before each Congress during the past eight years, again will be urged when the new Congress convenes, it ia announced by Alfred H. Lawson, chair- man_of the Legislative Committee of the Real Estate Board. There are many features in the pro- | posed license measure which indicates | the public benefit that can be expected ! from enactment of the legislaticn, Mr. | Lawson emphasized The proposed local law is fashioned after the model code drafted bv the National Association of Real Estate Boards. which is in operation, in stmilar forms, in 25 States. As enumerated, these causes some- what parallel the realtcrs™ code of ethics and are sufficiently broad in their sccpe o cover almost any type of Wrong prac- | tices or wrong doing that is possible for a real estate agent to ccmmit, Mr. Law- £on states “With such a basis the commission charged with the duty of issuing licenses | and reviewing the activities of licensees has an opportunity of rendering an effective service in the elimination of those who are untrustworthy or incom- petent to pursue the very important and | necessary vocation of real estate.
