General Electric declared t! regular dividend on the common stock. ‘The market opened higher and ex- tended its gains throughout the morn- ing without intermediate reaction. The buying included both rails and indus- trials, but the larger gains were in the latter mup, emechll in those stocks which had been most heavily sold by Mh operators. United States Steel Tan up & cmlple of points, American Can gained about as_much, and there were advances in Johns-Manville and J. L Case, two favorite speculative mediums.
