STEVENS TO RETIRE AFTER 50 YEARS’ SERVICE Veteran Worker Began Career in|fj Pension Office in October of 1881. | Robert W. Stevens of the financial | section, Veterans' Administration, is| planning to retire next Priday, after nearly 50 years of service for the Gov- ernment. He entered the public service in Oc- tober, 1881, in the old Pension Office, when W. W. Dudley was commissioner of pensions. Mr. Stevens has since served under 14 other commissioners, and now is in the Veterans’ Administra- tion, which has combined all work of the Government dealing with veterans.
