THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. €, FRIDAY, JULY 24, 1931. e Is Sound Strathmeade is sound because approximately 40% of its total area is dedicated to public use, including parks, golf courses, playgrounds, school sites, etc., and this area will always remain the property of Strathmeade owners. Remember, also, that Strathmeade can never become merely “‘a part of the city moved into the country.” Always it will remain an integral improved part of the nearby Virginia countryside— a real suburban community, with every home and school and playfield, every tree and flower and shrub, protected for dll time. Strathmeade is sound because there is nothing experiinental or untried in the Strathmeade plan. Only those time-tested things that make for better living, safety of investment, protection of property values, and for the health, safety and welfare of its inhabitants are included in the plan. Strathmeade answers every hope and aspiration of every right-thinking person, whether of moderate income or of large means. Strathmeade has a place for both. — Strathmeade is sound because no Strathmeade owner need ever fear that the improve- ment of the adjoining lot or block or district will impair the beauty or value of his own home place. No improvement, public or private, can be constructed anywhere in Strathmeade without the approval of Strathmeade’s Board of Supervising Archi- tects, selected by Strathmeade’s Home Owners’ Association from the leading architects and landscape architects of Washington. Strathmeade is sound because no one but a property owner ever can vote the expenditure of one dollar of the community’s funds. No one but a property owner may ever dictate or interfere with the home owner’s rights to the continued peaceful use of his property. Strathnieade is sound because it is planned to the last detail to completely meet the needs of the American family of moderate means. Strathmeade is sound because Washington is sound. As Washington develops, Strathmeade must develop. Mr. and Mrs. Reader, what do these facts mean to you? What do you plan to do about the unusual opportunity for better living at lower cost that protected Strathmeade offers you? Are you planning to be one of the large group of far-seeing Washingtonians who will actually select their home sites in Strathmeade at an early date? The time is here to think and think hard. What are you going to do about Strathmeade? e a d e . e : , BTRATHMEADE CORPORATION Mail ' 3 d ¢ R ¢ p 611 14TH STREET N. W., WASH, DC. ; .
