The British oyster eater is alarmed at the rapid decline of the British oyster. As far back as 50 years ago 100,000,000 bivalves were brought into England and last year that number had declined to 7,000,000. ‘The trouble started in 1922 when a mysterious epi- demic broke out among the native oysters and only about 10 per cent of the usual number survived. The mat- ter has been handed over to Govern- ment experts and they are endeavoring to restore the oyster to its one-time popularity. The deficlency is being taken care of to a certain extent by oysters from America and Portugal. 77/1 SANDWICH SPREAD - 1’/ the NATION UNDERWOOD DEVILED HAM "”l 7 g Ll Better for Baby Their Convenience and nomy are incidental.
