The total for the first third of this year falls approximately $1,400,000 below the level for the same period of last year. EPRESENTING an impressive physical improvement to the . private building development in the National Capital, the new Henry C. Folger Library of Shakespeareana, now rapidly ap- proaching completion on its site in the rear of the Library of Congress, promises to rank high among structures of its kind. With an exterior style of architecture designed to harmonize more or less with the architecture of other buildings in the neighborhood, notably the Capitol, Library of Congress and the projected new Supreme Court Building, the Folger Library follows a modern inter- pretation of classical architecture. It does not, however, match the design of the Library of Congress, essentially of Renaissance period, but is styled to blend with it.
