BISHOP T0 ADDRESS PATRIOTIC SERVICE Annual Event to Be Held in; Bethlehem Chapel at 4 0’Clock. ‘The third annual patriotic service un- der the auspices of the Society of Spon- sors of the United States Navy will be held in the Bethiehem Chapel of Wash- n_Cathedral tomorrow at 4 o'clock, with the Bishop of Washington, Right Rev. James E. Freeman, delivering the sermon. Various women's patriotic or- ganizations in the District of Columbia will be represented in the procession, bearing their colors and the United States flag. The officers of the society of Sponmu of the United States Navy will be headed by their national presi- | dent, Mrs. Russell Langdon, of East | Orange, N. J. Color bearers and official | representatives of the various organiza- tions to participate are requested to as semble in the eouth vestibule of the Bethlehem Chapel by 3:30 o'clock. ‘The service will be conducted by Dr. @. Preeland Peter, canon and chancel- Jor of the cathedral. The service will be broadcast over Station WMAL. At the 11 a.m. celebration of the holy communion in the Bethlehem Chapel the sermon will be delivered by Canon Peter. Other services tomorrow include the usual celebration of the holy com- munion 7:30 am. and reading of morning prayer and litany at 10 am. Pilgrimages to the crypt chapels and other objects of religious interest and devotion will be conducted by Rev. John W. Gummere of the cathedral stafl at the conclusion of the 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. services. ‘The principal feature of the services at the cathedral in observance of Ash Wednesday will be morning prayer and the penitential office in the Bethlehem Chapel at 11 o'clock, with Bishop Free- man as the preacher.
