During the last week two groups of special interest were welcomed at Mount St. Alban, Rt. Rev. Francis M. ‘Tait, Bishop Coadjutor of Pennsylvania, dressed the Clericus of the Diocese of Washington at a luncheom meeting Tuesday at the College of Preachers. His subject was “Getting and Holding Our’ People.” Bishop Freeman was the host and presided. Philip H. Frohman of Frohman, Robb & Little, the architects for the Cathedral, described the architectural refinements of the edifice to fifty mem- bers of the Arts Section of the Twen- tieth Century Club of Washington who made a pilgrimage Tuesday. Class Host at Dinner. . The largest attendance in the history of the Bible Class of the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church was present at the annual dinner Thursday in the audi- torium of the church. Rasmussen to Present 310 New Members to Congregation. At the 11 a. m. service at Luther Place Memorial~Church tomorrow Dr. Carl C. Rasmussen, the pastor, will deliver a sermon on “Gifts for My King.” After the sermon another large group of members will be received into the fellowship of the congregation, bringing the total number of new mem- bers’ since the first of April up to ap- proximately 310. It is believed by the officials of the church it will stand first or second among the congregations of the denom- ination in its growth in the first year of Dr. Rasmussen’s pastorate. It has al- ready climbed from the 1,200 place to second in the 3,650 congregations in a single year. In the reception of members tomor- row Dr. Rasmussen plans to have the four groups which have been received into fellowship since April 1 seated in specially reserved sections. They will each rise in turn and all stand while he presents them and the group he is receiving tomorrow as Luther Place’s Christmas gift to its King. There will be a massing of the entire membership for this celebration. A “White Gifts for the King” serv- ice will be held at 8 p. m., to make the annual offering for the poor and needy of the District of Columbia. A Christmas service will be held at 7 a. m. on Christmas Day. Christmas carols will be sung. . GRACE LUTHERANS T0 OBSERVE YULE “Rejoice” Pastor’s Topic Tomorrow, ‘When Annual Program Will Begin, Tomorrow’s services will mark the beginning of a Christmas observance at Ggace Lutheran Church.
