TAX REDUCTION URGED AS HOME BUILDING HELP Hoover Commission Will Be Petitioned by New Head of Building and Loan League. MMEDIATE reduction of taxes as an encouragement to home build- ing w’l be suggested to the commission created recently by Presi- dent Hoover to devise means of stimulating home ownership. This petition will come from R. Holtby Myers of Los Angeles, the new president of the United States Building and Loan League, and will be laid before the planning committee of the joint commis- sion to which he has been appointed as a representative of the build- ing and loan field ! Another development in the project was the announcement to- ‘day that the planning body of the commission would be called into its Xn!{ml meeting here late next month by Secretary of Commerce Lamont, who is chairman of the commission.
