The story will be | built around two partners in a Maine general store. Although sponsored by a nationally known firm, the name of the organization presenting the serial will not be disclosed until the fifth episode. June brides will be honored during the General Motors “family party.” The program will be devoted entirely to wed- ding music presented by Don Voorhees' Orchestra and a chorus of mixed voices. Standard compositions and popular pieces will be blended by Frank Black’s Orchestra in the Ovaitine Plane of Dreams broadcast. The soloist, Mary Hopple, contralto, will sing “I Love You Truly.” The A. & P. Gypsies will present a varlety program typical of the habits of nomadic peoples. The gypsy quartet Ifll sing “Roses for Remembrance,” “The Shadow of March” and “It Hap- pened in Monterey.” Byrd to Speak Over WMAL. In the Sign of the Shell program, Wendell Hall, the ‘“red-headed music maker,” will sing “Who" from “Sonny” and “I Kiss Your Hand, Madame.” The orchestral specialty will be the sym- phonic spiritual, “Deep Rive Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd will describe his South Pole flight in a special broadcast to American school children tonight over WMAL and the Columbia Ereadeasting System net- work. Sixty-one stations will be linked in the chain for the talk, which will have a musical background provided by Nayhew Lake's Band. Lake has written a special march for the program which he has titled “Byrd Comes Home."” “King of the Sandlots,” a new song, will be featured by Merle Johnston's Orchestra in the CeCo program. Other Broadway musical comedy hits. Jesse Crawford has included in the program of his weekly organ recital “The Dance of the Blue Danube,” and 8 medley of popular songs. During a brief intermission in the organ program Pllul Small, tenor, will sing a selected solo. ‘WMAL also will broadcast the fare- ‘well address to the people of the United States by Vincent Massey, retiring Ca- padian minister.
