Justice William Hits in Criminal Di- vision 2 yesterday sentenced Thomas E. Robertson to serve one year and one day in jail for a violation of the Maun act. It was charged that he paid the fare of a young woman from Washington to Btaten Island, N. Y. Robertson had been a roomer in the house of the girl's mother in this city before going to New York. Assistant United States Attorney James F. Hughes conducted the prose- cution, while the defendant was rep- resented by Attorney Abner Siegal.
