LEFTHAND TURN | * CHANGE S URGeD | Merchants and Manufactur- ers’ Association Governors L - Favor Inside Method. District Commissioner Crosby yester- day was advised by the governors of the Merchants and Manufacturers’ Asso- ciation that they favor & change from || the present outside left-hand turn to the inside method recommended by the| Hoover traffic conference. The action followed a report by]| Charles H. Frame, chairman of the trafic committee, at a meeting of the board Friday. It was explained that the board ad- vocates the Hoover left-hand turn be- cause of its almost universal tse in other cities, and because it would avoid considerable confusion on the part of tourists in the Capital City. The pres- ent method of making a left turn re- || sults in unnecessary delay and often | ties up traffic, it was stated. The governors went on record as ap- | §| proving the Capper bill for a $15.000,000 || loan to the District for the development of the proposed Municipal Center, pro- viding the clause requiring the District to pay interest is stricken out.
