By the Associated Press. MARCH FIELD, RIVERSIDE, Calif., March 28.—Nineteen Army bombing planes of the 2d Bombardment Group Squadron, Langley Field, Va, and a transport plane carrying air officials from Washington arrived here yester- day from El Paso, Tex. The planes are en route to Sacra- mento, Calif,, for the national air ma- neuvers. ‘The planes will leave for Mather Field, Sacramento, Sunday or Monday. The maneuvers take place next month. Twenty-nine planes from the 3d At- tack Group at Fort Crockett, Galves- ton, Tex., en route to the maneuvers, remained overnight at San Antonio. SENATORS DEPLORE | INDIAN CONDITIONS Frazier and Thomas Visit South Carolina Catawbas on Survey. By the Associated Press. ROCK HILL, S. C., March 28.—What was termed ‘“deplorable conditions” among the Catawba Indians, living on a reservation 9 miles below Rock Hill, were noted yesterday by United States Senators Lynn J. Frazier, North Da- kota, and Elmer Thomas, Oklahoma, who visited the settlement yesterday after- noon. ‘The visit by the members of the Senate committee on Indian inves- tigation was the result of a recent move by Senator Blease, South Carolina, to have the Federal Government take over the upkeep of the tribe. ‘The Senators said a full report would be submitted on their return to Wash- ington. The Senators came here from Char- Asheville, N. C. They left last night for Florida, where conditions among the Seminoles will be investigated. o Willys Buys Rare Tapestries.
