NEW YORK, February 28.—An inter- national imposter, who once gained the confidence of a President of the United States, yesterday was taken into cus- todz:fwr being sought for almost a year to gin serving a prison term for prac ticing law without a license. Samuel Weinberg, alias Lieut. Ster- ling G. Wyman, was arrested as he wurktd down Broadway, unshaven, a sandwich wrapped in a newspaper un- der his arm and in his pocket two al- legedly certified and canceled checks for $1,500,000, which he said he was wont to show to people to indicate the extent of his financial operations. Taken before the Court of Special Sesslons, Weinberg was ordered taken immediately to the penitentiary to be- zin serving his six months to three years’ sentence. He has served several previous sentences in connection with his fraud- ulent operations. In 1922 Weinberg, as Lieut. Wyman, convinced President Harding that he was a bona fide naval lieutenant and personal representative of “Princess Fa- tima,” a lady who claimed to be a Turk- ish princess, but wasn't.
