Ancjent Egyptians practiced a form of dentistry, as evidenced by the find- ing of crude wood and ivory fillings in the teeth of mummies, Dr. Arthur B. members of the Cosmopolitan Club at its weekly luncheon in the Carlton Ho- tel yesterday. Dr. Crane traced the history of den- tistry, explaining that the profession -4 was introduced in America by a French dentist who came over with Lafayette. Paul Revere, celebrated for his mid- night ride, was one of America’s first dentists, the speaker said. Dr. G. Albert Smith, president of the club presided. HAMBURG, Germany, February 28 .—Prosecuting officers yesterday drew @ a criminal charge against Capt. Ernest Zipplit of the steamship Falke and the owners, Feliz Prenzlau and a man named Kamarsky, specifying “the abduction of | German_sailors during an attempted insurrection in Venezuela.” The ship attempted last August to land men and munitions on the Vene- zuelan coast, but the attempt was de- | feated by government forces.
