Brandeis of the United States Supreme Court and Maj. Jullus I. Peyser, president of : the District of Columbia Bar Associa- tion, are among six Washington resi- dents named on the honor roll of American Jews for 1929, according to the current issue of the American Hebrew. Other Washington names on the honor roll are those of three members of Congress—Representative Florence P. Kahn of California, Representative Adolph J. Sabath of Illinois and Repre- | sentative Isaac Bachrach of New Jersey —and the director of the Jewish Com- munity Center, Maurice Bisgyer. This honor roll, compiled annually contains this year more than 100 nam covering distinguished _activity fields of endeavor important to the Na- tion and the world at large. Justice Brandeis is cited for his ald in the cause of Palestine rehabilitation. Maj. Peyser is included in the honor list because of notable service at the bar, and the three members of Congress are singled out as having rendered im- Pportant service in public office. The citation of Mr. Bisgyer is for his distinguished work in behalf of educa- tion. He is a member of the national committee on education recently ap- pointed by Secretary of Interior Wilbur.
