ROCHESTER, (#).—A set of chimes said to be the largest on the continent, will be hung in the library tower of the new college for men at the Uni- versity of Rochester, 165 feet in the air. The set of 17 bells has a total weight of 17 tons, the largest bell weighing four tons, 2nd is capable of producing the deepest notes of any chimes outside of Europe. The bells are the gift of Hopeman Bros., contractors in charge of construction of the new building, and were given as a memorial to their father, Arembt Hopeman. ‘The main part of the library building in three stories high and is located at buildings. Its capacity will be 2,000,000 volumes and the tower will contain 19 levels of circular bookstacks. Chicago Street Men Strike.
