The annual industrial merce as a means of promoting proper in Greater Washington will b> held at the Wash- ington Auditorium the week of October 21, it was announced last night at the Fcbmary meeting of the chamber di- rectors by Ivan C. Weld, president. The 1929 exposition, scheduled to be held in March, was postponed, due to the in- augural program. ‘The meeting of the chamber direc- tors was held in the new officcs of the organization, just opened, on the third floor of the Homer Building, on the Thirteenth street side. The offices are headquarters, and include an enlarged board room, secretary’'s office, indus- chamber staff and a storeroom. Plans were laid for enlargement of the membership of the chamber, follow- ing a statement by Robert L. McKeever, and members of the board were con- stituted members of an unofficial com- mittee to bring in applicants. On motion by Robert N. Harper, the directors voted to join in a movement to entertain a delegation of 300 New York high school superintendents, headed by Mayor “Jimmy” Walker and George F. Ryan, president of the New York Board of Education, who will stop here March 18 on a tour of historic places in Virginia as guests of the Vir- ginia State Chamber of Commerce. Later, it was announced, groups of school children are to make similar educational trips. ‘The following committee was named to formulate plans: Mr. Harper, M. A. Leese, Rudolph Jose, W. McK. Stowell, Arthur Marks and Gen. Anton Stephan. ‘The directors authorized the appoint- ment of a committee to study means of entertaining a delegation of 160 Aus- tralian youths who will s'.op in Wash- TODAY'S AMUSEMENTS.
