A resolution not to oppose the erec- town provided it is used exclusively for disposing of trash and not for burning garbage was adopted by the George- town Citizens’ Association at a meeting in the Potomac Savings Bank last night, following an address on the District’s incinerator projects by Maj. Donald A. Davison, assistant engineer ccmmis- sioner. Maj. Davison declared the proposed plant, which would be located near the foot of Forty-fourth street, would not be | noticeable or objectionable to citizens living nearby, emphasizing that there would be absolutely no unpleasant odor from it. The_incinerator plant in Georgetown, : Maj. Davison explained, is one of two proposed incinerators to be built in the District at a cost of about $750,000. The other plant would be located atj Fourteenth and Water streets south- west. The plants would be of sufficient capacity, Maj. Davison stated, to taks care of twice as much trash as is now handled in the District and would auto- matically do away with the Montello avenue trash plant and trash stables adjacent to it. The association adopted a resolution approving the proposed erection of a $5,000,000 Roosevelt Memorial Stadium as sponsored by the Washington Board of Trade. A resolution also was adopted ex- pressing the disapproval of the asso- ciation at the location of any such place as the House of Detention in “a good residential area.” The latter motion was adopted following the reading of a communication from citizens of south- west Washington. Direct reference to the present location of the House of Detention in the southwest was avoided in the resolution upon the suggestion of several members of the association. A resolution regarding a request for an appropriation of $400,000 for a new Business High School to be located at referred to the committee on schools. An address on the proposed appropria- tion was made earlier in the meeting by James T. Wilkes of the Business High School Alumni Association. ‘The executive committee reported be- fore the association that it has sent: recommendation to the Board of Edu- cation requesting the purchase of sites to serve as playgrounds for the Curtis, Addison and Hyde Schools and a re- quest for an addition to the Fillmore School. Groten James, John Paul Jones and John I. Langer were elected new mem- bers of the assoclation. Isaac B. Nordlinger, president, presided. COURT GRANTS REVIEW. Supreme Tribunal Considers Case of Hindu's Naturalization. The Supreme Court yesterday decided to review the case of Shanker Lax- man Gokhale vs. United States, involv- ing the question whether the United States may cancel a certificate of natu- munuon given to a Hindu by a State Shnnkzr L. Gokhale applied for cit- lzemhlrp in the Supreme Court of New York for. Schenectady, stating that he was a Hindu. He was examined by a United States enmlner of naturaliza- tion, who opposed the petition on the ground of his racial origin. The court granted the Hindu his certificate of naturalization and the United States did not take an appeal. Four years later the United States instituted an action in the United States District Court to cancel the naturalization on the ground that he was not a free white person and could not be naturalized. The District Court decided in favor of the Government | and the Circuit Court of Appeals af- flrmed the decision, holding that the “GLORIFYING THE AMERICAN GIRL"” A SALE EVENT COATS 358 REGUEARLY THE PRICE WOULD BE $90 FOR MADAME, MADEMOISELLE THE JUNIOR MISS THE PETITE WOMAN The Parrot Tea Room 1643 Conn.
