ATLANTA, Ga., September 18.—For- mer Gov. Clifford Walker of Georgia has been retained as special assistant solicitor general to aid in the search and prosecution of Clinton S. Carnes, missing treasurer of the Southern Bap- tist Home Mission Board, it was an- nounced yesterday. Gov. Walker, who will assist Solicitor General John A. Boykin on the case, was retained at the request of officials of the mission board, who will furnish the retainer fee for his services, it was said. Plans for_the continuance of the| search for Carnes, which to date has| developed no trace of the absconding | . treasurer, were discussed at a confer- ence between Solicitor Boykin and Mr. Walker today. To give impetus to the search Mr. Boykin today donated $250 to start a fund for a reward of $10,000 to be of- fered for the capture of Carnes and | WOrk. Macnab, American military attache, was the Ambassador’s proxy on the hunting trip, while Mr. Morrow rested at_the ranch house.
