The coppers, led | by Federal Mining & Smelting, In- ternational Nickel and American Smelt- ing, registered the next highest group price rise, 7 points. «Higher FElectric Auto Lite, Briges Manufacturing and Timken Roller Bearing price levels es- tablished the auto accessories group in | third place among the group price gain- ers for the week. Price recessions among Standard Oil of New Jersey. Tide Water Oil and Pan-American Petroleum accounted for the oils decline, while weakness of Na- tional Tea, McCrory A and City Stores | B issues depressed the stores price index. Numerous issues were carried forward into new high ground, while profit-taking resulted in minor re- | | actions in recent favorites. The up- ward movement, predominated, however, and there were no indications that the market had reached the stage where a sharp major reaction was in order. Fox Theater class A was one of the most active specialties, moving forward into new high ground in sympathy with the exeited speculation in this class. of shares on the Stock Exchange. That the company is to figure prominently in one or another of the mergers involving theatrical and amusement companies, despite denials, was evident by the character of the buying, although the price appreciation was limited.
