Nearly all the early leaders were in- { dustrials, but in this group the favorites | were scattered all through the list.!| American Smelting and Refning stood | out. It had closed at 239% yesterday with a net gain of more than 8 points. It opened today on a block of 3, shares at 235, up 5'j points and at the highest on record.
