Body of Elmer Cash Laid to Rest in Arlington. ‘The body of Elmer Lyfford Cash of Shelburn, Ind,, chief radlo man of the submarine S-4, was buried yesterday at Arlington National Cemetary with full military honors. Brief services were conducted in the chapel at Fort Myer by Capt. Charles Dickins, chilef of naval chaplains, Admiral C. F. Hughes, chief of naval operations. represented the Secretary of the Navy at the funeral. Rear Ad- miral R. H. Leigh, chief of the Bureau of Navigation, also attended. HUGHES DIES IN SYRAGUSE Former Public School Official of District Succumbs to Heart Attack. Dr. Percy Meredith Hughes, 83 years old. superintendent of the Syracuse yesterday afternoon. He was stricken while at work in his office yesterday morning. Born in Washington, February 3, 1864, a son of Carlton and Elizabeth Ann Etchison Hughes, he recelved his early education in public schools of the District of Columbia, graduating from Washington high schools in 1881. The following Fall Dr. Hughes became | & student in Emerson Institute here, where he completed his college prepara- tory course in 1883. He continued his | studies in Dickinson College, at Car- | lisle, Pa., and Johns Hopkins Univer- sity, where he was graduated with an | A. B. degree in 1886.
