Yesterday the new members were pledged in the headguarters of their pective societies, taking the vows or to 9 o'clock in the morning. That there will be certain stunts pre- scribed by the older members was made known, but just what form they may take is a profound secret. It was made known that a part of the regular youtine of the initiates will include Jearning the names and locations of the various chapters of the national sororities of wkich their local chap- ters constitute a part. There will be written examinations to determine the sorority knowledge of the new mem- bers. Boys' Day Passed. The girls had yesterday all to them- melves in the matter of pledging, the boys' fraternities pledge day baving passed. The list of sororities represented, with presidents and colors, follow: Pi Beta Phi—Miss Dorothy Latimer, president; colors, wine-red and silver- blue. Chi Omega—DMiss Margaret Schwartz, president; colors, cardinal and straw. Sigma Kappa—Miss Eva Lewis, president; colors, maroon and Javender. Phi Mu—Miss Lydagene Black, president; colors, rose and white, Alpha Delta Pi—Miss Marion Bates, preaident; colors, pale blue and white. Kappa Delta—Miss Virginia Macomber, president; colors, green and white, Gamma Beta Pi--Miss Marguerite Daly, president. Zeta Tau Alpha—Miss Marie Didden, president; colors, turquoise and steel. Delta Zeta—Miss Martha Morgan, president; colors, old rose and nile green. Alpha Delta Theta—Miss Pauline Burd, pres- ident; colors, turquoise and amethyst. Alpha Sigma Theta—DMiss Eveline Dickinson, president. GRATEFUL TO U. S. NAVY, The Navy Department has received an official note containing the thanks of the Duke and Duchess of York for the efficient manner in which the American naval authorities handled the recent passage of the British ship Renown through the Panama Canal. The letter expressly requested that the thanks of their royal highnesses be conveyed to Capt. John Downes, marine superintendent of the Panama Canal, for. his extremely courteous and efficient services on this occasion.
