CHICAGO, February 19.—Discovery of a trunk laden with women's cloth- ing in contrast with the four human skulls found in the negro convict’ trunk in a Detroit suburb, led to re- newed efforts today to determine whether James M. Coyner murdered | as well as robbed graves. The second trunk was seized at . where officlals became when a woman supposed | to be the mother of Coyner, who Is in the Indiana State Prison, declined to identify herself to obtain the luggage. Investigation disclosed an assort- ment of Women's apparel in the trunk, which had been forwarded by Coyner's sister in Chicago. It was to her the glant convict sent a letter from the prison, telling her to get the Michigan trunk or it would be “all up with me.” Coyner_is in prison for rcbbing a grave, in Hammond, Ind., last October, but the authorities have not satisfied themselves that he obtained the grue- some collection only from cemeterle: With the trunk in Michigan wer found numerous notations of women's | names and addresses, about which Coyner has maintained surly silence,. although acknowledging ownership of | the trunk.
