After last midnight it became un- lawful under the regulations of the mi- gratory bird treaty act to hunt wild ducks and geese, coots, gallinules and Wilson snipe or jacksnipe in New Jersey, Delaware, Long Island, Mary- land, the District of Columbia, Vir- ginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Missis- &ippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas and Arizona. In all other states the season closed Decem- ber 31 or January 15. o The Federal bird law protecting birds migrating between the United States and Canada is administered by the Blological Survey of the Depart- ament of Agriculture, and provides that birds killed during the open season may be possessed for an additional period of 10 days following the end of 1he season where killed. Hunters are warned by the Biological Survey that the possession of the carcasses of wild ducks, geese or other migratory game ‘birds in cold storage plants or else- ‘where after February 10 will subject them to prosecution in Federal courts. PARIS, February 1.—The Paris bureau of the Associated Press, whose work has steadily been expanding, wvesterday completed its removal to Jarger quarters at 21 Rue Vivienne without a break in its lines of com- munication with the capitals of Eu- rope and the United States. Expansion of the French service end that of Eastern Europe which is relayed through Paris to New York, required larger offices than those which the bureau had occupied for any years. An entire floor of a new ull not far from its old offices in the De La Bourse was en- aged, to which the Assoclated Press jureau was transferred Sunday. Four telegraph, three telephone lines, a ticker service and a pneumatic tube were Installed and placed in oper- ation without a break. ‘The new offices give ample provision for a feature service, archives and full office equipment.
